Gienahs Project was presented in the 10th International Conference on Information,
Intelligence, Systems and Applications in Patras on 16th July 2019.
The Strategic Issue of HEIs and SMEs interaction in Europe was stressed by Mr Nikolaos Krikis, representative of Noesis Technologies and Prof. Chrysostomos Stylios, University of Ioannina in the 10th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications – IISA that was held in Patras on 16th July 2019, organized by IEEE, the University of Piraeus, the University of Patras and the University of the Peloponnese.
The main findings of Gienahs Project, regarding the collaboration of HEIs and SMEs on innovation were presented. The barriers and Incentives for setting-up Industrial Ph.D. in Greece were further discussed based to the fact that indicative results of the project record a concept of scepticism by Greek SMEs and lack of research addressed to increase SMES’ market value.
Eventually, the need for effective knowledge transfer and the design of new products and methods including innovation, was emphasized as the major drive for the collaboration of HEIs -SMEs during the IISA-2019, an international forum for researchers and professionals in all areas of Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications
