The European project GIENAHS – Grasping innovation in Europe through a closer interaction between HEIs and SMEs, is in progress involving the definition of an innovative methodological approach for the design and establishment of Industrial PhDs in the European universities.
GIENAHS project aims to enhance interaction and cooperation between HEIS and SmEs. The Greek partners are the Lab. of Knowledge and Intelligence Computing, University of Ioannina and the Noesis Technologies enterprise.
It should be noted that an industrial PhD is a research doctoral programme with industrial orientation. This programme enables the researchers to conduct their research under an innovative research field so that their findings would be adaptable and provide solutions in industrials challenges, supporting the R&D departures of SmEs and other enterprises; while, they will be able to strengthen their competitiveness on a national and European level.
In this line, Noesis, the Greek enterprise that participates in the project, introduces a PhD candidate to its workforce who will be able to implement a research programme closely affiliated with Noesis’s operations. To this end Noesis is expected to be improve its financial performance.
